3. FEATURES OF THE HERO SÜDTIROL DOLOMITES
The HERO Südtirol Dolomites is a classic mountain bike race. The race attracts both individual competitors and members of sporting associations. Participants must use a mountain bike and the wearing of a helmet is compulsory.
Electric bikes/pedal assisted or tandems are not allowed.
4. RACE COURSES
There are three race routes: the 86 km, the 71 km and the 60 km.
Participants must choose the one best suited to them at the moment of registration. It’s not possible to change the route during the race. The races take place over a combination of private and public land. It is the duty of all participants to adhere to the rules of the Italian civil code regarding road use so as to ensure the safety of all participants and road users. Failure to do so may result in the participant being disqualified.
In addition all participants are required to keep with them a valid ID throughout the race.
5. PARTICIPATION
Open to all male and female bikers aged 19 (nineteen) or over and who are members of the FCI or Enti della Consulta, members of a non-Italian National Cycling Federation, and amateur or hobby-bikers. The event is of an invitation nature and the Organisation Committee has the non-appealable right to decide whether to accept or not an application to participate. If an application is considered to be in any way a damage for the event itself or to the event’s image it will not be approved.
The HERO Südtirol Dolomites provides for a closed number of 3.025 participants at the start. Bikers who have not been regularly registered for the event cannot join the starter groups and if they attempt to do so they will be removed, and in the case of any resulting accidents, prior to or during the race itself, they will be reported to the police.
6. REGISTRATION
For new participants, online applications are open from 19th June 2024 from 08:00 am to the 13th of June 2025. Registrations will be accepted in the order of request received up until the maximum number of 3.025 participants at the start is reached. Applications may only be made online on www.herodolomites.com and by completing an application form indicating the following: name, surname, address, nationality, sex, email, club name, membership number, company, company code if applying as FCI, UCI-Code, type of membership, shirt size, and also choice as to whether applying for the 86 km, 71km or 60 km race. An accepted application will only be considered as completed on payment being made. Various forms of payment are acceptable, e.g. credit card or bank transfer. The club-members FCI are obliged to make the registration through the Datasport form and also through factor K (http://fci.ksport.kgroup.eu/Fci/) via sport club. The ID race number will be communicated as soon as it will be published by the FCI. Registrations will be accepted in the order of request received up until the maximum number of 3.025 participants at the start is reached.
50% of the places are reserved for Italian citizens and 50% for non Italian citizens. Should there not be enough applicants of non Italian nationality other applicants of Italian nationality will be accepted.
7. REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee for the Élite category is 110,00 €. The race pack is included.
Registration for foreign Élite racers must be made online.
The registration fee includes a personal race number, mechanical assistance during the race (spare parts not included), refreshment during the race and on arrival, race pack with the event shirt, information and race classifications via SMS/email, printable certificate via Internet and a voucher for the pasta party.
Classifications will be published on www.herodolomites.com and from there it will also be possible to print a personal race participation certificate.
8. CANCELLATIONS
If the participant is unable to start in the edition 2025, the enrolment shall NOT be considered valid for the following edition of the race and the start fee will NOT be refunded.
For this reason we recommend persons to take out an insurance with Datasport at the time of registration. Upon presentation of a valid certificate, the insurance will issue a voucher for the corresponding amount.

There is no provision to send race packs direct to home addresses.
Until the 9th of May 2025 it is possible to communicate a decision to change from the 60 km race to the 86 km or 71 km one or vice versa. Every biker will receive an individual number. If a participant makes any modifications (change of name or change of race route) after the 9th of May 2025 he/she will receive a number but without his/her name on it.
9. DOCUMENT CHECK AND RACE NUMBER COLLECTION
Collection of start numbers will take place direct at the ice rink Pranives in Nivesstr. 17 in Selva Val Gardena:
Thursday 12th June 2025 from 3 pm to 8 pm
Friday 13th June 2025 from 10 am to 8 pm
Saturday 14th June 2025 from 05.30 am to 6.30 am
Check of membership cards and collection of start numbers for the Élite category and U23 men/women will take place at the ice rink in Selva Val Gardena:
Friday 13th of June 2025 from 12 pm to 4.30 pm.
The start numbers can be collected only by the participant on presentation of a valid ID (passport, identity card, or driving licence) in original form, and for members of the FCI/UCI membership cards are also required. Photocopies or other types of document are not acceptable and collection cannot be undertaken by third parties.

If a participant passes the gates after the fixed maximum times the overseer appointed will remove the start number. Exceptions will not be made for any reason whatsoever. Participants subject to such regulation may continue either by MTB but without the race number, or take the bus provided so as to return to Selva Val Gardena. After the time limits a part of the signage will be removed.

14. CONTROLS
The mechanical controls at the start and along the two race routes are obligatory.
Any biker who sets off prior or without taking the necessary control on the start line will be regarded as not having set off and so no reference will be made to him or her in the final race classification.
15. CLASSIFICATION
All bikers will be referred to in the classifications. The classifications will be prepared with regard to times and not with regard to order of arrival.
16. RESULTS AND PRIZEGIVING
The start lists and the results will also be available on internet at www.herodolomites.com.
The official prize ceremony will take place on Saturday 14th June 2025 at 9.00 pm at the Municipality square in Selva Val Gardena. The following first 3 men and women of the following classifications will be listed at the final prizegiving ceremony in the ice rink Pranives:
- · Category Elite (86 km for men and 60 km for women)
- · Category Club or Federation members (86 km, 71 km and 71 km for men and women)
- · Cat. Amateur/non Membership (86 km, 71 km and 60 km for men and women)
The following placements of the overall Élite categories will be part of the prize giving:
- · 86 km distance: from the 1st to the 10th classified in the mens club member category
- · 60 km distance: from the 1st to the 10th classified in the womens club member category
- · 60 km distance: from the 1st to the 5th classified in the mens club member category
- · 86 km distance: from the 1st to the 5th classified in the womens club member category
- · 71 km distance: from the 1st to the 5th classified in the womens and mens club member category
The prizes will not be awarded after the official presentation nor forwarded to home addresses.
The first 3 bikers of every category will receive a prize in kind.
The prizes may be picked up from 4 pm till 9 pm at the Race Office. Furthermore, it's possible to pick up the prizes on Sunday 15th of June 2025 from 9 am to 12 noon at the Active & Events Office in Selva Val Gardena.

All prizes are gross and subject to tax deductions. As per Law 91/1981 (Article 3, Paragraph 2, Letter a) and DPR 600/1973, the withholding tax for Italian residents is 20%, while for non-residents, it is 30%.
18. MEDICAL SUPPORT
Medical support includes ambulances, doctors, health support staff and availability of helicopter rescue service.
19. VEHICLE MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE
Any support by non-officials during the course of the races is severely prohibited and will result in disqualification, except places defined by the O.K.-Team.
20. APPEALS
Any appeal or protest should be addressed to the race jury in the measure pretended in the regulations and should be accompanied by the fee as fixed by the FCI and UCI regulation.
21. EVENT CANCELLATION
The Organising Committee reserves the right to make changes to the regulations, to the course and race conditions itself.
The event will take place irrespective of weather conditions provided that there is no risk to the health or safety of the participants. The Organising Committee retains the right to interrupt or cancel the race.
Should the race be cancelled for circumstances beyond the control of the Organisers or for Acts of God, the entry fee will not be refunded nor used for the following year’s fee. All details with regard to such circumstances will be published on the internet or in loco during the race itself.
22. VARIATIONS
The Organising Committee reserves the right at any moment and in any circumstance to make changes to the regulations.
Internet is the official medium for event information and as such all official event communications will be found there.
23. RIGHT AND OBLIGATIONS OF PARTICIPANTS
The number and the chip, provided by the Organisation, has to be fixed to the handlebars and on the back of the participant in a clearly visible manner. The number cannot be modified or changed in any way. Bikers must wear a hard safety approved helmet which must be kept fastened throughout the race. Road safety regulations must be respected throughout. The participants stopped at the gates of any time limit are required to deliver their race number and chip to the person appointed for such purpose.
Any biker not arriving at the starting grid 10 (ten) minutes prior to their fixed start will automatically be allocated to the final starting grid. All bikers must carry with them a puncture kit. Furthermore, all are required to keep with them an ID throughout the whole race. It is strongly advised that bikers should carry with them a change of clothing and a cape to provide against inclement weather conditions.
Bikers are required to move aside to allow faster bikers to overtake. Extreme prudence is to be exercised in parts of the race with poor visibility.
Any stop for repairs must be made in a clearly visible area away from the main race route. Participants who quit the race have to give such communication to the Organisation and hand the number back to the next security controller along the route. No change of lane is allowed in the final approach to the finishing line and a violation of this stipulation will lead to the biker being disqualified.
24. DISQUALIFICATION
Any biker found to be taking part with the race number of another, to have passed one’s race number to another, to have started from a grid proceeding that assigned, or guilty of other serious offence as determined by the Organisation Committee will be immediately excluded from the event and any position in race classification will be cancelled, and the biker may be subject to a ban from participating in future editions of between two and five years.
The above-mentioned measures will be adopted by the Organisation.
Bikers are reminded of their duty not to throw litter on the course route and to make use of the green zone at the beginning and end of each refreshment point. Bikers throwing litter on the ground and not making use of the services provided will be disqualified.
It is severely prohibited to use any form of electric or electronic support on the bike itself and any biker found to have done so, will be disqualified or removed from the final race classification. Tandems are not allowed.
25. RESPONSIBILITY
All participants in the HERO Südtirol Dolomites participate at their own risk.
The enrolment, even if done by a third party on one’s behalf, infers and provides that the participant accepts to waive any right, direct, or of third parties, against the Organising Committee and all individuals or organisations involved in the event. Furthermore, by enrolling in the event the participant declares to be sufficiently in form to face the challenge required to complete the race.
26. REGULATIONS
Matters not covered by this regulation shall be subject to the implementing rules of the FCI 2025 and UCI.
27. SIGNATURE
By sending the registration form the participant declares:
- · to be in possession of a competitive sport medical certificate as provided by the ministerial decree of 18/02/82. Failure to have such will lead to immediate disqualification. The Organisation also takes no responsibility for accidents or illness
- · to have a valid member card if part of a Club or Federation
- · to have a liability insurance against third parties
- · to have read the present Regulation
28. DATA PROTECTION
By sending the online registration form, the competitor must declare to have carefully read and unconditionally accepted the regulations of the HERO SÜDTIROL DOLOMITES 2025 as published on the website www.herodolomites.com, in all its parts.
In relation to the information referred to in art. 13 of EU Regulation 679/2016, the competitor must declare that he or she has read the said information published on the website www.herodolomites.com and that he or she has been informed that consent to its processing for the purposes indicated in art. 2) of the above information is mandatory’ by selecting the appropriate box on the registration form (for the purposes of processing personal data), and knowing that failure to consent to the processing of data for the purposes indicated in art. 2) of the information, will make it impossible to register for the activity in question.
With consent to the processing of personal data, the competitor expressly authorises the company that data can be transmitted and processed by third parties.
The data must be complete and legible, also for insurance purposes.
With the consent to the processing of their personal data the competitor expressly authorises the Company, so that its data be transmitted and processed by third parties that offer related services or services connected to the organisation, and as for example the delivery and or sending of gadgets purchased by the competitor, those for the purpose of timing, drawing up and announcing results and those for the purpose of photographing or filming the competitor.

COVID-19 PRIVACY
We inform participants that data processing of health data collected due to the “COVID-19” health emergency will be processed lawfully pursuant to Article 6 of The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Data processing is required for participants to take part in the event and safeguard the health of every party attending the event.
