The vital date on the calendar this year is Saturday 15 June, the day when at 7.10 in the morning the starter’s pistol will signal the beginning of the tenth running of the world’s toughest mountain bike marathon. The moment will have arrived when you are able to give the best of yourself and seek to become a HERO. Once the gruelling effort is over, and precisely at 21.00, there will be the HERO Great Finale! It is the event’s prizegiving moment and also the chance to acknowledge champions. Join in this great entertainment spectacle, an evening in which lights and music will provide the backcloth to unforgettable moments, moments which will mean so much to you and all the other 4018 bikers who have shared in the ups and downs of the race, and no doubt pure emotion will pour through.
